Post Second Year Medicine Exams Mindset

At first when I finished exams I was like…

And days and nights would merge into this…

And this…

And when my parents would ask me what useful stuff I was doing with my life I’d just be like..

But then the days passed, 3rd term work started and my money began to disappear…

But that didn’t bother us much and we continued to just…

and…

Until, really, we had no money…

and we ran out of cheap things to do..

and we actually had tutorials and practicals to prepare for…

And having so much free time we all expected to be..

But its actually now just back to the classical medical student now we have an exam in 4 weeks and a report due…

And I just sit there in lectures like…

Sigh. Don’t worry, I think we will all still and try and enjoy the rest of this term. But right now I am just so content and happy with…

  1. Hey Mala. I’m starting university this year , and I’m so scared! I’ve read your blogs for nearly a year, since I started looking at unis, and though I’m not going to imperial, I kept reading because you are both a good laugh and an inspiration! Sorry for getting corny but I just wanted to ask your advice, I don’t know how I’ve kept rambling. Basically I’m just so worried I won’t fit in, and I’ll be stood at all the events alone, and yes, I thought I’d ask you because you just seem so happy, and like you have so many friends and yes I really do need to stop now. Thank you, Maddie x

  2. Hi mala
I have a few questions I really hope you can answer:
    – what grades did you get in your a levels and GCSEs? I’m worried mine aren’t good enough to go to imperial (GCSEs – 8 a*s 2 as, a levels- 3 a*s and an a)
    – this sounds so stupid, but I have a friend who went to imperial and she said IF I do get in to go with a pirate costume. For some reason this has really panicked me, because I don’t know what to wear! What did you wear?
    – and finally, another IF question, if I did get in, what sort of room type would you recommend? A twin so I could get to know someone really well, or a single to have some space? Oh and ensuite! Is it worth the extra cash?
Thanks so much it would mean a lot if you took the time to reply
    Annie x

  3. Hey there! I’m in lower sixth at the mo, but I would just LOVE to go to imperial when I am, you know, older, but I don’t know which hall to choose to live in? Like I’m not sure to go for around 300 bed spaces or like under 100? I don’t know, what would you say is the best option? Oh and room type? Ensuite single or standard single or twin or ensuite premium and ya ya ya. What do YOU think ? Thanks so so so so much, Z x
