We challenged one of our researchers at the Sustainable Gas Institute to explain their research in a short one minute video as part of the &#8216;Research in a Nutshell Series&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>Sandro Luh is a visiting Masters student from the ETH Zurich. He is using the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sustainablegasinstitute.org\/home\/muse-energy-model\/\">MUSE energy systems model<\/a> to examine the potential of different strategies for reducing CO2 emissions in the industrial sector.\u00a0This includes measures such as fuel switching, electrification and Carbon Capture &amp; Storage.<\/p>\n<p>The industrial sector is a key sector to decarbonise\u00a0as it accounts for 24% of the total global CO2 emissions (2014).<\/p>\n<p>If you want to find out more about Sandro\u2019s work, read our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sustainablegasinstitute.org\/finding-ways-to-electrify-the-industrial-sector\/\">short interview with him<\/a>.\t\t<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>How to reduce emissions from industry?
