{"id":746,"date":"2014-12-05T12:29:23","date_gmt":"2014-12-05T12:29:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs-staging.imperial.ac.uk\/surgeryandcancer\/?p=746"},"modified":"2014-12-05T12:29:23","modified_gmt":"2014-12-05T12:29:23","slug":"athena-swan-award-ceremony","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs-staging.imperial.ac.uk\/surgeryandcancer\/2014\/12\/05\/athena-swan-award-ceremony\/","title":{"rendered":"Athena SWAN Award Ceremony"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs-staging.imperial.ac.uk\/surgeryandcancer\/files\/2014\/12\/Athena-Swan-Awards-2014_00091-579x3001.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"420\" height=\"259\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-750 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs-staging.imperial.ac.uk\/surgeryandcancer\/files\/2014\/12\/Athena-Swan-Awards-2014_00091-579x3001.jpg\" alt=\"Athena Swan Awards 2014_00091 579x300\" \/><\/a>The Athena SWAN award ceremony took place in November at Robinson College, University of Cambridge where\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.imperial.ac.uk\/people\/julia.anderson\">Julia Anderson<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imperial.ac.uk\/people\/k.hardy\">Kate Hardy<\/a> went along to collect Surgery &amp; Cancer&#8217;s bronze award, presented by Prof Dame Julia Higgins.<\/p>\n<p>It was an Imperial day with the Provost <a href=\"http:\/\/www3.imperial.ac.uk\/provost\/about\">James Stirling<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imperial.ac.uk\/people\/d.griffiths\">Dot Griffiths<\/a>\u00a0in attendance to support all the Imperial Departments receiving awards, including the\u00a0Institute of Clinical Sciences and MRC Clinical Sciences Centre getting their bronze award and the Department of Chemical Engineering and\u00a0National Heart and Lung institute getting their silver renewals.<\/p>\n<p>Currently work is underway in the Department preparing for our silver application in November 2015, with our new mentoring scheme launching in the new year.
