{"id":1364,"date":"2015-07-28T12:39:08","date_gmt":"2015-07-28T12:39:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs-staging.imperial.ac.uk\/surgeryandcancer\/?p=1364"},"modified":"2015-07-28T12:39:08","modified_gmt":"2015-07-28T12:39:08","slug":"congratulations-to-christopher-lattimer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs-staging.imperial.ac.uk\/surgeryandcancer\/2015\/07\/28\/congratulations-to-christopher-lattimer\/","title":{"rendered":"Congratulations to Christopher Lattimer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Congratulations go to\u00a0Mr Christopher Lattimer who for the second time has won 2nd Prize at the 16th Annual Meeting of the European Venous Forum,\u00a0which took place from the\u00a02nd-4th July 2015 in St. Petersburg, Russia, attracting over\u00a0800 delegates from all over the world.<\/p>\n<p>The following presentation entitled: <em>Increasing thigh compression pressure correlates with a reduction in the venous drainage index of air plethysmography.<\/em> (CR Lattimer, S Doucet, E Kalodiki, M Azzam, V Ibegbuna, G Geroulakos)\u00a0was from the Josef Pflug Vascular Laboratory, Ealing Hospital &amp; Imperial College and was given at the event.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs-staging.imperial.ac.uk\/surgeryandcancer\/files\/2015\/07\/Prize_Lattimer.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"228\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-1365\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs-staging.imperial.ac.uk\/surgeryandcancer\/files\/2015\/07\/Prize_Lattimer-300x228.jpg\" alt=\"Prize_Lattimer\" \/><\/a>The photo depicts Mr Christopher Lattimer (right) receiving the award on behalf of his team from the Josef Pflug Vascular Laboratory, Imperial College (Stephen Doucet, Evi Kalodiki, Mustapha Azzam &amp; George Geroulakos) who is shaking hands with the Chairman Professor Andrew Nicolaides (left) with the EVF President Professor Evgeny Shaydakov from St Petersburg in the centre.<\/p>\n<p>This highly competitive award has provided a grant to the sum of \u00a31,500 for Mr Lattimer to present his team&#8217;s work on venous drainage at the 2016 Annual Meeting of the American Venous Forum held in Orlando, Florida, Feb 23-26. This is acknowledged to be the most prestigious venous meeting globally.<\/p>\n<p>It is anticipated that the venous drainage index (VDI) of air-plethysmography will provide a reliable measurement of venous outflow obstruction in patients evaluated for venous stenting.
