{"id":1359,"date":"2015-07-28T12:24:57","date_gmt":"2015-07-28T12:24:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs-staging.imperial.ac.uk\/surgeryandcancer\/?p=1359"},"modified":"2015-07-28T12:24:57","modified_gmt":"2015-07-28T12:24:57","slug":"kirsty-flower-nominated-for-postdoc-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs-staging.imperial.ac.uk\/surgeryandcancer\/2015\/07\/28\/kirsty-flower-nominated-for-postdoc-award\/","title":{"rendered":"Kirsty Flower nominated for Postdoc award"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Last week the Postdoc Development Centre hosted the <strong>PDC<\/strong> <strong>Reps Award Dinner <\/strong>to celebrate the amazing achievements of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www3.imperial.ac.uk\/staffdevelopment\/postdocs1\/contacts\">PDC Reps Network<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0to give the first <strong>PDC Reps Award, <\/strong>which was presented by the Provost, Prof James Stirling.<\/p>\n<p>There was a huge interest across the College in the PDC Reps Award, with 49 individuals nominating their departmental Reps due to the significant contributions they have made to their department.\u00a0 In total this resulted in 15 Reps being put forward for consideration for the award.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"279\" height=\"300\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-1381 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs-staging.imperial.ac.uk\/surgeryandcancer\/files\/2015\/07\/Kirsty-Flower-PDC-Reps-Award-Nominee-2015-279x300.jpg\" alt=\"Kirsty Flower - PDC Reps Award Nominee 2015\" \/>All of the nominations were of a very high quality. Taking into account the number of nominations and the comments made on the form, 5 Reps were taken forward as finalists.\u00a0 Each of these individuals has excelled in their role as departmental Reps and there is evidence that there is a real cultural change within their department as a result of their work. In recognition of the extraordinary work that the finalists have done they each received a \u00a350 John Lewis Voucher with the winner receiving \u00a3500 toward a conference or workshop of their choice.<\/p>\n<p>We are proud to report\u00a0that Kirsty Flower, our Postdoc Rep for the IRDB was nominated for this award.\u00a0 This was a huge achievement so congratulations go to Kirsty for the nomination as a recognition of all the work she has carried out in the Department, especially for her involvement with the\u00a0Athena SWAN Academic Opportunities Committee.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Last week the Postdoc Development Centre hosted the PDC Reps Award Dinner to celebrate the amazing achievements of the PDC Reps Network\u00a0and\u00a0to give the first PDC Reps Award, which was presented by the Provost, Prof James Stirling.
