{"id":1195,"date":"2015-05-20T15:48:27","date_gmt":"2015-05-20T15:48:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs-staging.imperial.ac.uk\/surgeryandcancer\/?p=1195"},"modified":"2015-05-20T15:48:27","modified_gmt":"2015-05-20T15:48:27","slug":"phenomics-phenomic-network-symposium-a-huge-success","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs-staging.imperial.ac.uk\/surgeryandcancer\/2015\/05\/20\/phenomics-phenomic-network-symposium-a-huge-success\/","title":{"rendered":"Phenomics &amp; Phenomic Network Symposium a huge success"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs-staging.imperial.ac.uk\/surgeryandcancer\/files\/2015\/05\/Symposium-Phenome.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1020\" height=\"526\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-1196\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs-staging.imperial.ac.uk\/surgeryandcancer\/files\/2015\/05\/Symposium-Phenome.jpg\" alt=\"Symposium Phenome\" \/><\/a>The Division of Computational and Systems Medicine (home to the MRC-NIHR National Phenome Centre) hosted a one-day symposium under the title of \u201cPhenomics and Phenomic Networks\u201d on the 30th April 2015 at the South Kensington Campus.<\/p>\n<p>The event\u00a0proved so popular that registration to attend had to close early and on the back of\u00a0the symposiums\u00a0phenomenal success and feedback from the attendees, it was decided that it would now become an annual event.<\/p>\n<p>The purpose was to bring together like-minded individuals to facilitate deeper integration of phenomics into the wider \u2018omics community, and develop a Phenomic Network in the UK, bringing together an audience in excess of 100 researchers from the UK and Europe with speakers such as Prof Dame Carol Robinson (University of Oxford), Prof Tony Whetton (University of Manchester), Dr Christoph Steinbeck (European Bioinformatics Institute), Prof Mark Viant (University of Birmingham), Dr Julian Griffin (University of Cambridge) and the Centre&#8217;s Director Prof Jeremy Nicholson (Imperial College London).<\/p>\n<p>For updates on future events please follow the National Phenome Centre on <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NPCUK1\">Twitter<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/NationalPhenomeCentreUK\">Facebook<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Division of Computational and Systems Medicine (home to the MRC-NIHR National Phenome Centre) hosted a one-day symposium under the title of \u201cPhenomics and Phenomic Networks\u201d on the 30th April 2015 at the South Kensington Campus.
