Congratulations to our very own Divisional Manager of Surgery Mr Tony Tarragona-Fiol who has passed his MSc in Health Policy with Merit.
One of CSM’s PhD students, Munira Alsaleh has received an academic distinction award from the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia. This award is given to students who received an award at a conference or event.
Munira received her award after winning best poster award at a recent conference in Saudi Arabia. This extremely competitive award is open to students who receive a scholarship from any Saudi based organisation to undertake their studies in a UK-based university, college or institute.
Congratulations to Prof Justin Stebbing who has just been voted as a member of the American Society for Clinical Investigation (ASCI) council. He has been invited to the ASCI/AAP annual meeting to be held April 15-17 in Chicago at the Fairmont Hotel next year.
Justin has also been announced as co-Editor of Oncogene who publish the latest developments in cancer research.
Mr Christopher Lattimer (Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer) has won the Bronze Prize for best presentation at the American College of Phlebology this year.
Registration is now open for the NHLI Athena SWAN Lecture 2016 by Prof Fiona Watt FRS, taking place on Wednesday 20th of January.
Prof Watt will be talking about her exciting research – Intrinsic and Extrinsic Regulation of Epidermal Stem Cell Fate – and also about her career path and how she got to where she is now. The talk is scheduled for 16:00 and will be followed by a reception where you will have a chance to talk to Prof Watt and mingle with your colleagues.

Professor Simon Taylor-Robinson, from the Division of Gastroenterology has won honorary fellowship of the West African College of Physicians.
The accolade, previously only bestowed on African presidents, has been awarded for his education and research work in TB, HIV, Malaria, Ebola and Hepatitis B.
