Internet here is not quite as accessible as it is in London, so posts will be few and delayed I expect! We have arrived safely (and, somewhat surprisingly), with all of our luggage! <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: 19.15pt;background: white;vertical-align: baseline;margin: 0cm 0cm 20.4pt 0cm\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt;font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';color: #444444\">The weather here is nice, with most days sunny in the morning and rain in the afternoon (we are travelling in rainy season!). The rain explains why Uganda is such a lush green country, a mix of true tropical rainforest where we have actually and farmland where tea, coffee, and matoke (a green, savoury, starchy banana) are grown. In the rainforest we came face to face with chimpanzees and mountain gorillas. The animals we met were entirely wild, but were habituated to human presence (otherwise they\u2019d be long gone by the time we came anywhere near!)<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: 19.15pt;background: white;vertical-align: baseline;margin: 0cm 0cm 20.4pt 0cm\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-206 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs-staging.imperial.ac.uk\/student-blogs\/files\/2016\/06\/Picture1-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Picture1\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: 19.15pt;background: white;vertical-align: baseline;margin: 0cm 0cm 20.4pt 0cm\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt;font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';color: #444444\">In some places this rainforest gives way to open savanna where we have managed to see elephants, hippos, and a lioness climbing a tree! This was a real treat and a welcome holiday after studying all the time for finals.
