It featured a <a href=\"https:\/\/rslondon.ac.uk\/rslondonse-2019\/agenda\/\">diverse schedule<\/a> of talks and discussions about software engineering, community building and both domain-specific and general-purpose tools of relevance to research.<\/p>\n<p>There were four talks from Imperial researchers, including the keynote from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imperial.ac.uk\/people\/s.sherwin\">Professor Spencer Sherwin<\/a>, Director of Research Computing. The College&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imperial.ac.uk\/admin-services\/ict\/self-service\/research-support\/rcs\/\">Research Computing Service<\/a> was also represented by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imperial.ac.uk\/people\/d.alonso-alvarez\">Dr Diego Alonso \u00c1lvarez<\/a>, who presented an introduction to <a href=\"http:\/\/xarray.pydata.org\/en\/stable\/\">xarray<\/a> and described the RSE team&#8217;s work on integrating it into the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sustainablegasinstitute.org\/home\/muse-energy-model\/\">MUSE<\/a> energy systems model.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-122 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs-staging.imperial.ac.uk\/research-software-engineering\/files\/2019\/02\/IMG_20190207_1210452-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Please see <a href=\"https:\/\/imperiallondon-my.sharepoint.com\/:b:\/g\/personal\/dalonsoa_ic_ac_uk\/EYiYYq6CfbRNoPEIX0uI9PwBJbvwYnukgJTB0ZqRHNyaWQ?e=ge8Zff\">Diego&#8217;s slides<\/a> for more information.
