Jess very kindly supplied us with some stunningly gorgeous <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zeiss.com\/microscopy\/int\/products\/light-microscopes\/axioscope-for-materials.html\">microscope<\/a> images of her research.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs-staging.imperial.ac.uk\/photography\/files\/2019\/04\/1400_181217_wade_jess_dls_065.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"751\" height=\"1126\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1767 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs-staging.imperial.ac.uk\/photography\/files\/2019\/04\/181217_wade_jess_dls_065.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Image \u00a9\u00a0Thomas Angus \/ Imperial College London\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Jess graduated from Imperial College London in 2012 with a First class MSci in Physics before completing a PhD under the supervision of Dr Ji-Seon Kim. Jess is now a post-doc working with Professor Alisdair Campbell and Dr Matt Fuchter, on chiral organic light emitting diodes. They use the synchrotron to better understand and optimise these materials.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs-staging.imperial.ac.uk\/photography\/files\/2019\/04\/1400_Image_4727.jpg\"><img href=\"https:\/\/www.zeiss.com\/microscopy\/int\/products\/light-microscopes\/axioscope-for-materials.html\">Microscope<\/a> images, which feature the chiral layers of carbon based polymers for light emitting diodes.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs-staging.imperial.ac.uk\/photography\/files\/2019\/04\/1400_needles.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"751\" height=\"557\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1771 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs-staging.imperial.ac.uk\/photography\/files\/2019\/04\/needles.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Image \u00a9 while researching new light emitting-diode materials, with a focus on the emission of circularly polarised light.<\/p>\n<p><a
