Profile pictures make life easier."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Office 365 is an amazing set of tools and it makes it very easy to share and collaborate on documents, BUT do you know with whom you are sharing a file?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We usually use a user&#8217;s email address or look them up in the address book by typing their name, but what happens when you have multiple people with similar names?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Here at Imperial we&#8217;d suggest that adding a photo to your profile will really help you and your colleagues to connect successfully.\u00a0 Your profile photo is only visible within College, so external users won&#8217;t see your profile photo.\u00a0 Having a profile photo on your account can really help avoid those &#8220;oops, I sent it to the wrong person&#8221; type errors.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>How do I set or update a Profile Picture?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Log in to https:\/\/office.imperial.ac.uk using your username and password and MFA if required.<\/li>\n<li>Click on the icon at the top right where your initials (or current picture are visible)\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"32\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-232\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs-staging.imperial.ac.uk\/office365\/files\/2022\/12\/2022-12-01-Photo-change-01-300x32.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/li>\n<li>Hover over the initials or icon and a camera image will appear &#8211; click on this to bring up a Change or Upload picture window (if you have pop ups turned off in your web browser then you will<br \/>\nneed to allow these before you can change your profile picture).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"162\" height=\"207\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-233\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs-staging.imperial.ac.uk\/office365\/files\/2022\/12\/2022-12-01-Photo-change-02.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/li>\n<li>Choose to upload a picture &#8211; select your profile picture using the file explorer window and click open to upload the picture.\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"289\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-234\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs-staging.imperial.ac.uk\/office365\/files\/2022\/12\/2022-12-01-Photo-change-03-300x289.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/li>\n<li>Use the zoom controls and the cursor to move the picture so that it is centred in the frame<\/li>\n<li>Click Apply &#8211; the new picture will be applied\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"286\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-235\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs-staging.imperial.ac.uk\/office365\/files\/2022\/12\/2022-12-01-Photo-change-04-300x286.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/li>\n<li>Click Done &#8211; and see your new profile picture against your account.\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"193\" height=\"50\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-231\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs-staging.imperial.ac.uk\/office365\/files\/2022\/12\/2022-12-01-Photo-change-05.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>What &#8220;rules&#8221; apply to Profile Pictures?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Imperial ICT recommends that your profile picture should be a genuine likeness of you.<\/p>\n<p>College has professional profile photo shoots held at different campuses throughout the year (see <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imperial.ac.uk\/communications\/photography\/staff-photoshoot\/\">Staff photoshoot | Administration and support services | Imperial College London<\/a> for details), or you could just ask a colleague to take a photo for you on your phone and then upload that.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Office 365 is an amazing set of tools and it makes it very easy to share and collaborate on documents, BUT do you know with whom you are sharing a file?
