\n\u201cI am currently studying a degree apprenticeship in Project Management to further my knowledge\u201d<\/h3>\n

I currently work as a Technology Delivery Manager in ICT having previously worked in the external events team. I never saw myself working in ICT as I thought it was too technical, however I have surprised myself with how much of a geek I am! I love learning about how things work \u201cbehind the scenes\u201d and seeing that transposed on a client facing system. I now work with staff across the College on projects which improve student administration and experience.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I am currently studying a degree apprenticeship in Project Management to further my knowledge on areas I have had little exposure to thus far. I\u2019m formalising my current work experience into a recognised qualification as part of my career development.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

So far, the degree has not only provided taught content, but a network of colleagues from different industries who offer insights into project control and management in other workplaces. It has also provided a great support network as deadlines loom and panic sets in!<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The degree apprenticeship ringfences one day a week for your learning which I find a really good balance. This gives ample time to complete your classes and assignments, whilst also giving you enough time in the office to complete your day-to-day work, contribute to the team\u2019s goals and put some of your knowledge into practice.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Although I am only into my third term, I already feel the content covered has allowed me to reflect on my project management skills and allowed me to voice suggestions or improvements to current practices, where previously I would not have had the confidence to do so.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I encourage everyone to take full advantage of the apprenticeship scheme as it not only formalises skills you already possess, but also gain new ones as well as a new perspective on how your organisation works.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
