{"id":136,"date":"2018-10-30T10:32:23","date_gmt":"2018-10-30T10:32:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs-staging.imperial.ac.uk\/imperial-people\/?p=136"},"modified":"2018-10-30T10:32:23","modified_gmt":"2018-10-30T10:32:23","slug":"tracy-halsey-head-of-eyec-campus-services","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs-staging.imperial.ac.uk\/imperial-people\/2018\/10\/30\/tracy-halsey-head-of-eyec-campus-services\/","title":{"rendered":"Tracy Halsey, Head of EYEC, Campus Services"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-137\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs-staging.imperial.ac.uk\/imperial-people\/files\/2018\/10\/Tracey-Halsey-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I joined the College in 1988 and started working with babies in a very small nursery of 33 children.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->The waiting list has grown year on year and we have continually expanded to our current capacity of 158 children.\u00a0As I gained more experience I rose to deputy, and then in 2016 the Head of the Centre.\u00a0So much has changed at the College and the EYEC and we are constantly evaluating and improving. It is exciting as well as challenging \u2013 with new legislation, governance and frameworks that we work to, in addition to OFSTED and other inspections.<\/p>\n<p>In the early days, as well as looking after the children we had to cook their lunch and tea and some staff still wore nurses uniforms. We had limited resources but the children still loved it.<\/p>\n<p>I have looked after thousands of children over the years and met many memorable and interesting people.
