\u201cI recently completed COVID-19 vaccination training and have joined other healthcare professionals in vaccinating the nation.\u201d<\/h3>\n

I\u2019m a qualified pharmacist with experience of working in an NHS Trust and a community pharmacy. During my pharmacy career, personal and academic experiences exposed me to the different health challenges faced by populations around the world. This sparked my interest and led me to pursue a\u00a0<\/span>Master\u2019s in Public Health<\/span><\/a>\u00a0– the global health\u00a0stream.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I have learnt about the principles of public health and policy development as well as different global health challenges. I have also learnt about the significance of global governance, health economics and other disciplines such as statistics and epidemiology\u00a0–\u00a0which are all essential for improving global health. I am looking forward to working with my supervisors on my summer project, which will utilise data from the\u00a0Improving Health in Slums Collaboration\u00a0to explore migration.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

I cannot speak about my learning experience without mentioning the impact of COVID-19. It has been challenging, and there have been feelings of missed opportunities, but Imperial\u2019s efforts to bridge that gap and make the course interactive has really supported my experience and made a significant difference.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Throughout the pandemic and my studies, I have continued my practice as a pharmacist.\u00a0I recently completed COVID-19 vaccination training and have joined other healthcare professionals in vaccinating the nation.\u00a0In June,\u00a0I\u00a0participated\u00a0in\u00a0the United Nations\u2019 59th Graduate Study Programme, aptly themed \u201cPost-COVID World: Reset, Resilience, Recovery.\u201d The teachings from Imperial combined with insights from the UN programme have truly enhanced my student experience and will inform my imminent global health career.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I love to travel and fortunately, I have visited countries across Africa, Asia, Europe, North America and Oceania. I don\u2019t think I will ever make it to Antarctica, but as soon as the borders are open and it is safe, I will be visiting South America. I am overdue a holiday!\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
