I\u2019m an Environmental Policy Research PhD student at\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>Centre for Environmental Policy<\/span><\/a>. My\u00a0<\/span>Master’s<\/span>\u00a0is in Urban Management and Development with a\u00a0<\/span>specialisation<\/span> in Environment and Climate Change and studied Architecture. I have broadened my scope from a siloed area such as architecture to the urban and environmental dimensions.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019m investigating how to better integrate climate policies into city planning with a focus on human health<\/span> using a <\/span>systems-<\/span>thinking approach<\/span>\u00a0– which means\u00a0<\/span>thinking about the greater picture.\u00a0<\/span>Additionally, I am a partner at <\/span>C\u00f3nclave Consultora<\/span><\/a>,<\/span> a consultancy that helps people who want to construct a building through recommendations that consider the entire development as a whole. I<\/span>n the process<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0we\u00a0<\/span>conduct an<\/span>\u00a0environmental impact\u00a0<\/span>assessment – <\/span>an application of my academic preparation at Imperial.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It has been identified that climate change exacerbates health risks<\/span>,<\/span> for example, the spread of infectious diseases such as\u00a0<\/span>COVID-19<\/span>. My research intends to understand the challenges and opportunities of climate synergetic policies which may reduce environment-related risks for people in the future.<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019m part of the\u00a0<\/span>MRC Centre for Environment and Health<\/span><\/a>. I believe that this is an <\/span>overlooked<\/span>\u00a0area but if we\u00a0<\/span>reali<\/span>s<\/span>e<\/span>\u00a0that annually there are\u00a0<\/span>three<\/span>\u00a0or\u00a0<\/span>four<\/span>\u00a0times more deaths<\/span>\u00a0wor<\/span>l<\/span>d<\/span>wide<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>as a consequence of<\/span>\u00a0air pollution than from vehicle crashes<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0it becomes shocking<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
