{"id":4421,"date":"2018-10-11T09:31:44","date_gmt":"2018-10-11T08:31:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs-staging.imperial.ac.uk\/fom\/?p=4421"},"modified":"2018-10-11T09:31:44","modified_gmt":"2018-10-11T08:31:44","slug":"medicine-and-open-access","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs-staging.imperial.ac.uk\/fom\/2018\/10\/11\/medicine-and-open-access\/","title":{"rendered":"Medicine and open access"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>It is international <a href=\"http:\/\/www.openaccessweek.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Open Access Week<\/a>\u00a0during 22-28 October and to mark this occasion the Open Access team have a number of news items for the Faculty.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Deposit Statistics for Spiral<\/h2>\n<p>During the 2017-18 academic year the Open Access team in the Library ensured 9,604 journal articles, 869 conference papers and 900 theses were deposited in our repository Spiral, as open access.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"889\" height=\"364\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4422\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs-staging.imperial.ac.uk\/fom\/files\/2018\/10\/OA1.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Medicine and open access<\/h2>\n<p>The Open Science Monitor (OSM) of the European Commission has released some <a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/info\/open-science\/open-science-monitor\/trends-open-access-publications_en\">analysis<\/a> on the percentage of open access publications (gold and green) by Fields of Study. This\u00a0data was gathered through the analysis of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.elsevier.com\/solutions\/scopus\">Scopus data<\/a>.
