These videos will form a resource bank to support current and future GTAs by showcasing real examples of what GTAs do and how these practices enhance student learning.<\/p>\n<p>The videos that best demonstrate effective GTA practice will each receive a <strong>\u00a350 voucher<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Why take part?<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Contribute to a growing bank of effective teaching practices to support fellow GTAs<\/li>\n<li>Help highlight the value of GTA teaching for student learning across Imperial<\/li>\n<li>Be in with a chance to win one of<strong> three \u00a350 vouchers<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>What should the video include?<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Your video should be <strong>approx. 1 minute<\/strong>. It must include you speaking &#8211; this can be a talking\u2011head video or a voiceover with images or clips. The video does <strong>not<\/strong> need to be polished or professionally edited; we will be evaluating the <strong>teaching you describe<\/strong>, not the production quality.<\/p>\n<p>Include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A brief introduction to who you are and your GTA role (e.g. discipline, type of teaching you do)<\/li>\n<li>One teaching strategy or approach you use that has supported student learning<\/li>\n<li>Why you think this strategy has been effective for student learning<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>See here an <a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1z5M8_SObyo-8fyNdorZEnE0kSbxxjh4n\/view\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">example video from GTA Angelina Amengu<\/a> from the Dyson School of Design Engineering department.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>How to submit?<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Upload your video here: <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.office.com\/e\/qpLW5BGNBR\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Video submission GTAP<\/a><br \/>\nPlease name your file following format &#8220;Title_Firstname_Lastname\u201d<\/li>\n<li>The deadline to submit your video is <strong>midnight on Wed 3 June 2026<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>If you have any questions, please email <a href=\"mailto:ecri@imperial.ac.uk\">ecri@imperial.ac.uk<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Video criteria<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Clearly explains\/shows\u00a0the teaching context or setting (e.g. lab, tutorial, etc)<\/li>\n<li>Describes the\u00a0practical teaching activity or strategy<\/li>\n<li>Explains how students benefitted from the activity \/ strategy<\/li>\n<li>Explains how you came up with the idea or why you decided to do it (e.g. drawing on the training you had, or previous experiences, etc)<\/li>\n<li>Briefly says what worked well and what needs to be improved from this experience, &#8211; this may include strengths and limitations (as we are looking for honest, learnable insights rather than only positive stories)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Calling Imperial College GTAs &#8211; This call is open to all current Imperial doctoral students who are, or have previously been, GTAs.
