Stonewall Focus Groups – LGBTQ+ Consultation (Deadline 28 May)

🌈 Stonewall Focus Groups

We are reviewing how we deliver meaningful, lasting inclusion for our LGBTQ+ staff and students, and we would value your input.

As part of this, we are considering whether to continue our membership with Stonewall or move to a bespoke, Imperial-owned approach that is fully aligned with our EDI and People strategies.

To inform this decision, we are running a series of staff focus groups. These sessions will provide a space to share your perspectives and experiences, ensuring a broad range of voices helps shape our future approach.

Timing: Sessions will take place from June 2026 onwards. Dates will be confirmed after registration closes and scheduled based on participants’ availability. If you would like to take part, please register your interest and we will be in touch with further details. Register by: Friday 28 May 2026

Postdoc Survey on Burnout

Why do some postdoctoral researchers burn out under similar pressures, while others do not? Having spent over 10 years in the postdoctoral system myself, this question is not abstract for me.

I am currently conducting an MSc research study at Manchester Metropolitan University examining psychological factors associated with burnout in UK-based postdoctoral researchers. Participation involves a short (15–20 minute) anonymous online survey, with no identifying data collected.

Survey link:

If you know other UK postdocs outside the LMS who may be interested, please feel free to share the link – snowball sampling is always helpful.

Before I sign off, you may also see a separate survey from the LMS Postdoc Committee circulating shortly, focusing on other aspects of the postdoc experience, including career and finance. Please do consider completing it as well.

Many thanks for your time and support,
