CfAE Effective Presentation Skills (30 April-21 May 2026)

Effective Presentation Skills: Presenting with impact
Thursday 30 April to Thursday 21 May, 14.00 – 15.30.

If you are required to present your research, whether internally or externally, in an informal or more formal setting, this short course will provide you with the space to upgrade your presentation skills. The course allows for intensive, iterative practice, directed peer review and detailed feedback.

You will focus on:

  • explaining your research in an engaging, professional way, relevant to the context, purpose and audience: focusing on visuals, language and voice
  • guiding your audience through your narrative and ensuring they can access technical content and recognise key messaging (motivation, relevance, value, impact, etc.)
  • rehearsing for presentations, both PPT and poster, to provide in-depth review and reflection opportunities whilst also building confidence
  • anticipating questions and rehearsing for successful interaction

Courses run for 4 weeks (90 minutes, once a week) and are delivered on campus at South Kensington.

Reserve your place by filling out the registration form.
