The annual showcase provided an opportunity to recognise and celebrate the work of the Department&#8217;s PhD students.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The event, organised by the Higher Research Degrees team, was held in the Wolfson Education Centre at the Hammersmith Campus. The programme included a poster session, a \u20183-minute thesis competition\u2019, guest speakers and networking drinks for all attendees.<\/p>\n<p>The day&#8217;s prize-winners were as follows:<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Posters<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>1st place: <strong>Jonas Mackerodt<\/strong>, &#8216;In vivo dynamics of human T cells&#8217; (Infectious Diseases)<\/p>\n<p>2nd place: <strong>Elisabeth Serger<\/strong>, &#8216;Intermittent Fasting promotes Axonal regeneration in the Peripheral Nervous System&#8217; (Brain Sciences)<\/p>\n<p>3rd place: <strong>Leon de Boer<\/strong>, &#8216;WNK1 regulates T cell adhesion and migration&#8217; (Immunology and Inflammation)<\/p>\n<h3><strong>3 Minute Thesis Presentations<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>1st place: <strong>Akshay Sabnis<\/strong>, &#8216;How Colistin Kills&#8217; (Microbiology)<\/p>\n<p>2nd place: <strong>Hannah Maude<\/strong>, &#8216;The use of genetic maps to identify genetic causes of Type 2 Diabetes&#8217; (Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism)<\/p>\n<p>3rd place: <strong>Vasha Kaur<\/strong>, &#8216;Can the Gut talk to the Ovary&#8217;?
