Well done everyone!<\/strong><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Notable awards<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Haemostasis Lab (Drs Jim Crawley, Josefin Ahnstroem, Rens de Groot and Isabelle Salles-Crawley) were collectively awarded \u00a32m in BHF funding in April this year.<\/li>\n<li>Professor Anastasios Karadimitris received \u00a3250k funding from the Excellence Fund for Frontier Research (EFFR) to investigate engineering <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imperial.ac.uk\/news\/185870\/college-funds-frontier-research-push-boundaries\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">specialised immune cells to induce a potential cure for HIV infection<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Professor Karadimitris also received a \u00a3124k award from the Imperial BRC.<\/li>\n<li>Dr Richard Kelwick was awarded a <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs-staging.imperial.ac.uk\/dom-staff\/2018\/08\/09\/in-profile-dr-richard-kelwick-research-associate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Royal Society of Edinburgh (RSE) Enterprise Fellowship<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Professor Lan Zhao obtained a \u00a3165k BHF project grant<\/li>\n<li>Professor Dale Wigley successfully renewed his Wellcome Trust Investigator Award.<\/li>\n<li>Dr Nichola\u00a0Cooper was awarded a \u00a350k Imperial College Healthcare Charity Research Fellowship Award<\/li>\n<li>Professor Xiaodong Zhang was awarded a \u00a32m Wellcome Trust Investigator Award, and a \u00a31m BBSRC research grant.<\/li>\n<li>Professor Paul Freemont was awarded \u00a3406k as part of a collaboration with the University of Cambridge.<\/li>\n<li>Professor Freemont was also recognised for his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imperial.ac.uk\/news\/188628\/synthetic-biology-success-imperial-experts-prestigious\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">leadership in synthetic biology<\/a> at the Engineering Biology Awards, presented at the SynBioBETA Conference.<strong style=\"font-family: -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, 'Segoe UI', Roboto, Oxygen-Sans, Ubuntu, Cantarell, 'Helvetica Neue', sans-serif\">\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em><strong>Notable manuscripts and papers<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>&#8216;Rapid acquisition and model-based analysis of cell-free transcription\u2013translation reactions from nonmodel bacteria&#8217; by Simon J.
