Well done everyone!<\/strong><!--more--><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Professor Matthew Pickering successfully renewed his Wellcome Trust Senior Research Fellowship in Clinical Science <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs-staging.imperial.ac.uk\/dom-staff\/2018\/11\/21\/funding-successes-november-2018\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">for a third time<\/a><\/li>\n<li>A study led by Dr Jessica Strid \u2013 \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/s41590-018-0161-8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Epithelial damage and tissue \u03b3\u03b4 T cells promote a unique tumor-protective IgE response<\/a>\u2019 \u2013 was published in <em>Nature Immunology<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>The findings of a study led by Professor Marina Botto, \u2018<a href=\"http:\/\/science.sciencemag.org\/content\/360\/6388\/558\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">C1q restrains autoimmunity and viral infection by regulating CD8+ T cell metabolism<\/a>\u2019, were published in <em>Science<\/em> earlier this year.<\/li>\n<li>Dr Candice Roufosse co-authored \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/europepmc.org\/abstract\/med\/30028786\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">A 2018 Reference Guide to the Banff Classification of Renal Allograft Pathology<\/a>\u2019, which aims to be a concise reference for pathologists and clinicians, and will become it will become a vital textbook for pathologists and nephrologists all over the world.<\/li>\n<li>Dr Sophie Rutschmann \u2013 in addition to achieving a Distinction in her Master\u2019s in Education in University Learning and Teaching \u2013 has enjoyed a number of individual and team successes in her role as Academic Lead for Postgraduate Education in the Faculty of Medicine. <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs-staging.imperial.ac.uk\/dom-staff\/2018\/12\/17\/learning-and-teaching-key-achievements-for-2018\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Read our full roundup of Learning and Teaching successes<\/a> for this year.<\/li>\n<li>Professor Guido Franzoso\u00a0published findings of a small clinical trial in the\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/doi\/full\/10.1111\/bjh.15569\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">British Journal of Haematology<\/a>,\u00a0<\/em>demonstrating promising results of a new treatment for\u00a0multiple myeloma. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imperial.ac.uk\/news\/188506\/breakthrough-drug-shows-early-promise-multiple\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Read the Imperial news article.<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We asked each Division in the Department to share with us their key achievements as part of our end of year roundup.
