{"id":1451,"date":"2014-11-25T19:15:59","date_gmt":"2014-11-25T18:15:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs-staging.imperial.ac.uk\/announcements\/?p=1451"},"modified":"2014-11-25T21:56:18","modified_gmt":"2014-11-25T20:56:18","slug":"update-on-consultation-on-uss-reform-25-november-2014","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs-staging.imperial.ac.uk\/announcements\/2014\/11\/25\/update-on-consultation-on-uss-reform-25-november-2014\/","title":{"rendered":"Update on consultation on USS reform \u2013 25 November 2014"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>USS 2014 Actuarial Valuation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As part of the process for the 2014 actuarial valuation of the assets and liabilities of the Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS), the trustee is currently consulting on the proposed assumptions and data which it intends to use to determine the value of the scheme\u2019s liabilities, and a draft of the updated Statement of Funding Principles.\u00a0 <a title=\"Access the consultation document\" href=\"https:\/\/workspace.imperial.ac.uk\/college\/Public\/pdfs\/PDFS\/2014%20Actuarial%20Valuation%20Technical%20Provisions%20Consultation%20Paper.pdf\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Access the consultation document<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Consultation process<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The consultation requested feedback from Universities UK (UUK) and through it from individual participating employers by the end of November 2014.<\/p>\n<p>On 21 November UUK issued a note on UUK\u2019s assumptions proposed in the USS consultation and asked for responses by 28 November.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Imperial\u2019s response<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The College has chosen to share its response with staff.
