Faculty of Medicine Academic Executive Team

Four Vice-Deans have been appointed in the Faculty of Medicine, with effect from 1 August 2013, following a review of the Faculty’s internal governance structure.

Professor Gavin Screaton has been appointed as the Vice-Dean for Academic Development.    Working closely with the Dean, he will be responsible for the development of strategic plans and their implementation

Professor Lord Darzi has been appointed as Vice-Dean of Health Policy and Engagement.  He will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of the Faculty strategy for Health Policy and Engagement.

Professor Jonathan Weber has been appointed as the Vice-Dean for Research.  He will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of the Faculty and AHSC Research strategy.

Professor Jenny Higham has been appointed as the Vice-Dean for Education and Institutional Affairs.  She will be responsible for leading the development and delivery of education and institutional affairs at the Faculty of Medicine and will also deputise for the Dean in his absence.

Professor Dermot Kelleher as Dean has overall responsibility for the strategic and academic direction of the Faculty of Medicine with a specific focus on translational strategy and development, while the Vice-Deans will be responsible for the delivery of the Faculty’s core mission in their respective areas, reporting to the Dean.
